Five Stars Rehearsal Dinner Yelp Review
6/16/2010 I had not been to La Residence for dinner in a few years, but was looking for a place to have my son's wedding rehearsal dinner and thought of them. The location was perfect for out of town guests who wanted to get the downtown Chapel Hill experience. And I loved the quaint (probably historic) home in which the restaurant is located, with a beautiful flower garden on the outside (which they use for their table flower arrangements) and lovely indoor and outdoor patio dining areas. Liz, their event coordinator, was very patient with me as I asked many questions (as I had never planned a big dinner party before). The night of the dinner, I was a nervous wreck and really didn't know what to expect. But my nerves were soon calmed. The evening was perfect! The wait staff were professional and accommodating, but most importantly to me, they were friendly and personable! (Landy was our favorite waiter!) And all of the food was absolutely scrumptious! We requested the Southern Buffet which included bbq pulled pork and bbq chicken, roasted potatoes w/ garlic and caramelized onion, macaroni & smoked cheese casserole, and several other sides. The homemade sweet pickles were to die for! We also had several pick-up dessert choices.....the 7 layer bars were sinfully good! Every single item on the buffet was delicious, and the evening was a huge success! I can't thank La Residence enough for making it such a memorable occasion. Many thanks go to Zeke, the dining manager. He was professional, and he bent over backwards to make the evening a success.....all while being friendly and lots of fun to work with! Thank you to all!

Service was blindingly fast and still very personable. Food was amazing and perfect atmosphere. The best dining experience I've had in Chapel Hill. Landy, Zeke and kitchen staff - thank you very much. PERFECT.

My fiancee and I were having an early Valentine's dinner. The reservation instructions were followed to point, the staff was courteous and prompt while dealing with a large group (40+, very hard for server (from experience)). Our server (Landy), along with other staff had amazing recommendations and service. The atmosphere could not have been expected, wonderfully crafted. The chef was friendly and can cook! Thank you for the memories.

Thanks so much for all of you excellent service for Will and Rachel's rehearsal luncheon. My mouth is still watering as I remember our meal! The display was not only lovely- it was also the appropriate temperature and a delightful summer combination of foods! The cake was so cute, and even better tasting! The wait staff was everywhere, ready to serve in any way. The flowers on the table indicated that a fabulous gardener had nurtured them! The event planner's recommendations were just what I wanted, and her attention to our needs with planning was greatly appreciated. Thanks again! Wilmington needs a "La Rez"!
